Storix® Announces Significant Update to System Backup Administrator
San Diego – April 2, 2013 – Storix, Inc., the leader in Linux and Unix system recovery solutions today announced the general availability of System Backup Administrator 188.8.131.52 (SBAdmin). The enhancements in this update prepare customers for the next-generation of hardware as well as increased storage requirements due to big data demands.
With this release, SBAdmin adds support for next-generation systems utilizing the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI). Unlike other bare-metal recovery products, with SBAdmin you can create backups of legacy BIOS-based systems and recover them to UEFI-based if necessary. This adds peace of mind for customers who have a mix of hardware in their datacenters.
Storix is also proud to be one of the first vendors to support the recent release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4. With additional driver support included in RHEL 6.4, customers are now able to get improved virtual guest performance for VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V deployments. With SBAdmin, customers can use a single product for the backup and bare-metal recovery of both their physical and virtual systems.
- Support for UEFI-based hardware
- Bootable system backup disks larger than 2TB
- Integration with Tivoli Storage Manager v184.108.40.206
- Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux v6.4
SBAdmin provides Adaptable System Recovery (ASR), the ability to rebuild Linux, Solaris, or AIX systems from bare-metal, giving customers the flexibility to alter the configuration as needed to fit onto any hardware or virtual configuration. The power and flexibility of ASR greatly reduces downtime during disasters or planned outages, exceeding the user’s RTO. SBAdmin can also be used for provisioning/cloning of multiple systems and software storage alteration for improved system availability, recoverability and performance.
