Most network backup applications allow a "server" to pull backups from network clients. But SBAdmin allows a Network Administrator to define any other system on the network as a client and/or a server. Now, any client can backup to his own local media (tape or disk), or can send his backup data to any other server (also to tape or disk). In addition, a client system can be completely re-installed from a System Backup written to either local disk, local tape, or even remote disk or tape!

Restoring Client Data
Not only can you restore a clien'ts data, but any data from any client backup can be restored to any other client, all from the convenience of the centalized GUI interface running on the Network Administrator system. SBAdmin's unique centralized network backup management makes coping and moving data simple!
Restoring a Client System
SBAdmin is by far the most complete and flexible bare-metal restore product available for Linux or AIX. A full-system backup of a client can be used to re-install the client exactly as it was, or may be installed onto different hardware. Even when restoring to the same hardware, you can migrate to a different software storage configuration, providing increased I/O performance, expandability and data availability. Even when backing up to remote media, a client system can be completely reinstalled from that remote media (disk or tape), or the same backup can be taken to the client system and restored locally.
