Storix, Inc. Announces Availability of SBAdmin Version 7.1 San Diego – July 01, 2009 – Storix, Inc., provider of Unix-based backup and disaster recovery solutions for Linux, AIX and Solaris Systems, today announced System Backup Administrator (SBAdmin) version 7.1 now with support for multi-tenant and multi-instance computing infrastructures. The new version introduces a number of new features and enhancements, many of which are especially beneficial to large organizations requiring enterprise-level system backup management and security. SBAdmin version 7.1, customers can group and manage clients and servers as separate entities among departments, organizations or different lines of business. Furthermore, SBAdmin allows client systems from different backup groups to securely store backups on a single shared server. SBAdmin version 7.1 also includes a new user role feature, which allows users to be defined with access across groups, within groups or limited access to backup configurations, including maintenance options. Summary of SBAdmin v7.1 Features and Enhancements:
“Storix has long established itself as the leader in system recovery for UNIX and Linux. Our customers have typically ranged from small business owners, backing-up single partition filesystems; to Fortune 500 customers composed of data centers backing-up hundreds of VMs to local and remote servers,” says Anthony Johnson, President and CEO of Storix, Inc. “The new Enterprise System Recovery features within the SBAdmin version 7 will allow Storix to better serve Enterprise customers requiring system recovery across multiple lines of business through a single, easy to manage enterprise-ready solution.” SBAdmin offers central management and secure web-based, command-line or graphical user interface options for daily backup management combined with the most complete Adaptable System Recovery (ASR) process available on the market today. The simple ASR process adapts a backup to the hardware detected during installation, rebuilding the new system to the same state as the prior system. The complete restore from bare-metal can be managed locally or remotely and can take just minutes. If the software detects differences between the backup and newly detected hardware, it will make recommendations such as selection of new disks or automated shrinking of filesystems. Optional features include IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) integration and backup data encryption with simplified key management. SBAdmin supports Solaris SPARC and x86/x64, all Intel-based (x86/Pentium), IBM pSeries (32/64-bit) and HP Itanium 2 systems. Technical Support Storix licenses include 1-year maintenance for access to technical support, software updates and new version releases during the coverage period. Technical support is provided via phone, email and online. Additional 24/7 support is included at no additional charge for urgent recovery situations. Pricing and Availability SBAdmin 7.1 is available now starting at $895US for a SBAdmin Administrator and $435US for each additional client/server license. Standalone Workstation licenses start at $505US. |
