Why do I get the error message "There are no disk backup images available on the server for client [clientname]"
When attempting to select a backup on the server after booting the client, the server responds with the error "There are no disk backup images available on the server for client [clientname]". I see the backup on the server so why doesn't it show up?
There are three common causes for this behavior:
1) The server will only list backups of type "Full System" so verify that the backup files start with "SB".
2) The backups were written using the %C notation which substitutes the client name in the directory path. If you are cloning using a different client name, then it likely is looking in the wrong location. Use the "copybackup" feature to move the backups out of the %C directory to one that can be shared by all clients. Alternately, you may create a device on the backup server that represents the directory path to the backups without using %C notation.
3) There are too many backup files in the directory. This is not as common, but can happen. A way to test for this is to run an "ls -l" on the directory. If that fails because there are too many files, then our software will likely fail as well. Use the "purge" option in the software to clean out old backups that are no longer necessary.
